A Deep Lineup at Music Hall of Williamsburg Tomorrow Night

October 12th, 2010

Wednesday’s Music Hall of Williamsburg show boasts a lineup of bands with plenty of history behind them. Vs. Antelope and I Hate Our Freedom feature members of seminal post-hardcore groups Texas Is the Reason, Jets to Brazil, J. Majesty, Big Collapse, Garrison and Milhouse, while the Casting Out, from Newark, Del., features members of Boy Sets Fire, most notably charismatic frontman Nathan Gray. Two weeks ago the Casting Out announced plans of an indefinite hiatus while Boy Sets Fire reunites. And for a band that mixes hand claps and hardcore so well, it’s a shame to have to say goodbye (at least for now). Headliner Samiam contains the remnants of Isocracy, one of the groups to make a name for the Gilman in Berkeley, Calif., in the ’80s. Samiam (above, doing “She Found You”) has been off the radar for a number of years, only playing sporadically within the U.S. So tomorrow will be your chance to watch a band forever at the top of its game once again dust off the cobwebs. —Kirsten Housel
