Daniel Lanois’ Black Dub Hits Webster Hall Tonight

June 15th, 2011

Daniel Lanois is a musical kind of guy. He’s a world-renowned producer best known for working with the likes of Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, U2 and Neil Young. But he’s also a guitarist, singer and songwriter, so he started his own band, Black Dub, featuring him on guitar, Brian Blade on drums, Daryl Johnson on bass and multi-instrumentalist Trixie Whitley on the microphone. The band (above, playing “Surely” for Live Off the Floor) comes to Webster Hall Tonight and you should, too, if you’d like to witness a pretty cool mix of blues, dub, rock and soul. And why wouldn’t you?
