Eternal Summers Bring New Music to Mercury Lounge

July 25th, 2012

Singer-guitarist Nicole Yun and drummer Daniel Cundiff first met as members of the Magic Twig Community, an artist collective in the mountains of Roanoke, Va., several years ago. Together they began making what they call “dream-punk” music—tight, hook-heavy tunes that alternate between hazy dream pop and raucous post-punk, as evidenced by their debut LP, Silver, out in 2010. Since then Eternal Summers (above, playing “Pogo”) have grown in size and sound: The duo has become a trio with the addition of Jonathan Woods on bass, and their brand new album, Correct Behavior, is “such a leap, production-wise, from anything we’ve ever done,” says Cundiff. And you can hear the difference in person at the late show tomorrow night at Mercury Lounge.
