Exclusive Video: Circa Survive Perform in a Tattoo Parlor

September 7th, 2012

Philly rockers Circa Survive have truly embraced the indie spirit, self-producing and self-releasing their newest album, the acclaimed Violent Waves. The Alternative Press calls it “strong and focused, creatively fierce and yet cohesive” despite the pressure the band’s taken on. According to Rolling Stone, “Sharp Practice,” the album’s first single, “packs a slinky guitar progression that grooves in and out behind frontman Anthony Green’s howling vocals.” And that comes through even in this stripped-down, acoustic performance in a tattoo parlor done exclusively for The Bowery Presents Live channel on YouTube.

The band talked about listening to Metallica and Tool as kids and how, in self-financing and self-producing their new album, they learned to take creative compromise a step further and to work together in a more constructive way. Watch the interview.
