Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies Play Terminal 5 Tomorrow Night

September 12th, 2012

Back in 2009, country superstar Miranda Lambert was at work on her third album, Revolution. She collaborated with others on many of the songs and particularly clicked with Ashley Monroe. Two of the tracks they wrote, including the chart-topping “Heart Like Mine,” made it onto Revolution, but the others didn’t exactly fit. “They really weren’t right for me or her individually, but they sounded so cool, we were like, ‘What can we do with these songs?’” said Lambert. “But,” added Monroe, “We also didn’t want to give them to anybody else. It’s like in our minds, we already knew what was going to happen.” What did happen was Monroe introduced Nashville (by way of Kentucky) singer-songwriter Angaleena Presley to Lambert, and, as the Pistol Annies, the three made the countrified, harmony-heavy Hell on Heels last year. Pistol Annies (above, playing “Hell on Heels”) appeared at Lambert’s shows on her solo tour, but now they’re out on the road, and they kick off their tour tomorrow night at Terminal 5.
