Don’t Miss Paul Weller on Friday Night Live at Terminal 5

June 10th, 2015

As one of the leading figures of the Mod revival, Paul Weller has been influencing English music for decades, first as frontman of the Jam, one of the most popular of the late-’70s/ early-’80s British punk and New Wave bands, and then as the leader of the R&B- and soul-tinged Style Council. Weller went solo back in 1992 with the release of an acclaimed self-titled LP (stream it below). And the Modfather has remained active, touring and recording music, ever since. His most recent release, his 12th solo album, Saturns Pattern (stream it below), came out a few weeks ago. In praising the LP, NME says, “The Modfather shifts his sound again, moving into acid-spiked psychedelia.” And the ever-busy Englishman (above, performing “Going My Way” for the BBC) has crossed the pond in support of it. Catch him on Friday night at Terminal 5. (His 6/20 appearance at Music Hall of Williamsburg is already sold out.) NYC singer-songwriter Hannah Cohen opens.
