Todd Terje & the Olsens Bring a Full-Band Dance Party to Terminal 5

July 20th, 2015

More than a decade ago, Norwegian DJ, producer and songwriter Todd Terje—born Terje Olsen, he took his stage name in homage to famed house-music producer Todd Terry— burst onto the Scandinavian dance scene, thanks to his remixing and re-editing, channeling a variety of genres, including dub, disco, house, techno and synth pop in the process. He’s since done work with Robbie Williams, Franz Ferdinand and Bryan Ferry, in addition to releasing his own full-length album, It’s Album Time (stream it below), last year. It’s “packed with personality, its retro-futuristic, cosmic-disco grooves forming a clear picture of Terje as life and soul of the party,” according to NME. “Despite its apparent desperation to be considered a piece of fluff and nonsense, Terje’s infectious electronic pop beds itself deep in the brain.” And joined by his backing band, the Olsens, Todd Terje (above, doing “Inspector Norse” at this year’s Glastonbury Festival) plays a special headlining show tomorrow night at Terminal 5.
