The Wailers Keep Bob Marley’s Spirit Alive at the Cap on Thursday

February 9th, 2016

Despite beloved reggae icon Bob Marley’s passing nearly 35 years ago, his backing band, the Wailers, continue to keep his music and spirit alive. Led by Marley’s right-hand man and coproducer, Aston “Family Man” Barrett (bass), the Wailers—rounded out by Aston Barrett Jr. (organ), Dwayne Anglin (vocals), Joshua Barrett (vocals), Cegee Victory (vocals), Audley Chisholm (guitar and vocals), Melvin Glover (guitar), Chaka Taylor (keys) and Anthony “Benbow” Creary (drums)—play music from across Marley and the Wailers’ extensive discography. And while they perform across the world, the Wailers (above, doing “Is This Love” two years ago at Glastonbury) recently kicked off a new North American tour, which brings them to the Capitol Theatre on Thursday night.
