The Capitol Theatre Welcomes Big Head Todd and the Monsters

February 11th, 2016

Big Head Todd and the Monsters have been winning over fans coast to coast with their bluesy jamming since forming more than 30 years ago. But rather than keep touring based on past hits like “Bittersweet,” the Boulder, Colo., quartet—Todd Park Mohr, Brian Nevin, Rob Squire and Jeremy Lawton—continues to release new music. Their most recent full-length, Black Beehive (stream it below), came out in 2014, and AllMusic called it “a reflection of how the band’s sojourn into the blues has paid off dividends.” And furthermore, Big Head Todd and the Monsters (above, performing “Broken Hearted Savior”) have been releasing new singles since the start of the New Year. Now out on the road, you can see them play the Capitol Theatre on Friday night. Soul Coughing’s Mike Doughty and Howard Stern Show’s Fred Norris open the show.
