A Double Dose of Jukebox the Ghost at The Bowery Ballroom

March 21st, 2016

Make no mistake: Born in D.C., raised in Philly and now living in Brooklyn, Jukebox the Ghost are an East Coast band through and through. Jesse Kristin (drums), Tommy Siegel (vocals and guitar) and Ben Thornewill (vocals and piano) first met while attending George Washington University, where they formed a band called the Sunday Mail. But when the trio decided to break up two years later, they still wanted to stick together, so after writing more material, they relocated to the City of Brotherly Love and reformed as Jukebox the Ghost. This new group received positive reviews, and on the heels of releasing the fun, high-spirited Let Live & Let Ghosts (stream it below) and Everything Under the Sun (stream it below), began touring with the likes of Ben Folds, Jenny Owens Young and Barenaked Ladies. They’ve since settled in Kings County, and Jukebox the Ghost (above, doing “Postcard” live) recently released a new EP, Thump Sessions (stream it below). Touring behind it, they play The Bowery Ballroom tomorrow and then again on Thursday.
