Esmé Patterson Plays the Early Show at Mercury Lounge on Monday

April 8th, 2016

A founding member of Denver baroque-pop Americana collective Paper Bird, singer-songwriter Esmé Patterson has been doing her own thing as a solo artist ever since she released All Princes, I (stream it below), which American Songwriter labeled “a warm, organic-sounding album that splits the difference between indie pop, folk-rock and coffeehouse jazz,” in 2012. Now living in Portland, Ore., Patterson (above, performing “What Do You Call a Woman?” for Audiotree Live) has a “confident and engaging” album due to arrive in June. And perhaps you can get a preview of it when the big-voiced singer hits Mercury Lounge’s early show on Monday night. Winstons, a garage-soul duo out of Brooklyn, by way of Virginia, open the show.
