Underworld Will Have You Dancing Tomorrow at Terminal 5

April 19th, 2016

Karl Hyde (vocals) and Rick Smith (keys) formed the electronic-dance duo Underworld almost 30 years ago in London. Things began to take off once they began to add techno and trance sounds. And then they broke through all around the world when “Dark & Long (Dark Train),” off their fourth album, Second Toughest in the Infants (stream it below), was featured on the Trainspotting soundtrack. Over the years, Underworld (above, performing “Born Slippy” live in Amsterdam) have become equally known for their visual style as they have for their fiery live performances. And with the release of their ninth studio album, Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future (stream it below)—which PopMatters dubbed “pretty much anything you could ask for as a long-term fan and the kind of late-period album that is actually worth spreading beyond the faithful”—you can experience that for yourself tomorrow night at Terminal 5.
