Airick Woodhead, the guy behind the Doldrums, and Hooded Fang frontman Daniel Lee and bassist April Aliermo teamed up recently to form Phèdre. The name comes from a Greek mythological tale of infidelity while the sound is a hodgepodge of synths, a little bit of rap, some lo-fi pop and a mix of male and female vocals. The Toronto trio initially got on the map with the (NSFW) video of “In Decay” before playing their first show or releasing their self-titled debut album. And now Phèdre (above, playing “In Decay”) is on the road. See them play the late show tomorrow night at Mercury Lounge.
