Kick Off Your Weekend with Jukebox the Ghost in the East Village

February 7th, 2013

Make no mistake: Born in D.C., raised in Philly and now living in Brooklyn, Jukebox the Ghost are an East Coast band. Jesse Kristin (drums), Tommy Siegel (vocals and guitar) and Ben Thornewill (vocals and piano) first met while attending George Washington University, where they formed a band called the Sunday Mail. But when the trio decided to break up two years later, they still wanted to stick together, so after writing more material, they relocated to the City of Brotherly Love and reformed the band, now called Jukebox the Ghost. This new group received positive reviews, and on the heels of releasing the fun, high-spirited Let Live & Let Ghosts and Everything Under the Sun, began touring with the likes of Ben Folds, Jenny Owens Young and Barenaked Ladies. But prior to the release of last year’s well-regarded Safe Travels (stream it below), Jukebox the Ghost decamped for Kings County. And tomorrow at Webster Hall they play a hometown show not to miss.
