Porcelain Raft Returns to Mercury Lounge

May 31st, 2012

Some melodies feel instantly recognizable, like a long-forgotten song you hum without even knowing the words. This experience of vague familiarity is pervasive throughout the growing catalog of singer-songwriter Mauro Remiddi’s bedroom-pop project, Porcelain Raft. And with a slew of EPs released in 2010 and a reworked version of the EP Gone Blind, plus a debut LP, Strange Weekend, released earlier this year, Porcelain Raft (above, doing “Drifting In and Out” for bowlegsmusic.com) has plenty of material to cover when playing live, which he will do tomorrow night at Mercury Lounge. —Jared Levy
