White Lies Are Coming

September 8th, 2009

Singer-guitarist Harry McVeigh, lyricist-bassist Charles Cave and drummer-keyboardist Jack Lawrence Brown met in school in West London. They formed the band Fear of Flying in 2004 and released a few Brit-pop singles. But they weren’t completely satisfied. And by 2007, they’d taken on a new name—White Lies—and had begun playing more somber material. Since then, the trio—complemented by a fourth musician, Tommy Bowen, for live performances—has released an EP, four singles and, earlier this year, their debut studio album, To Lose My Life…. The tour for that album brings White Lies to Webster Hall on Friday, September 25th.

Check out White Lies playing “Death,” above, and then try to win free tickets, below, by listing your name, e-mail address, which show you’re trying to win tickets to (White Lies, 9/25) and a brief message telling us where you draw the line when it comes to telling white lies. Eddie Bruiser, a man who could use some boundaries, will notify the winner by noon on Friday, September 11th. Good luck.
