A Double Dose of Kate Nash

November 18th, 2010

Kate Nash was born in Dublin in the late ’80s but raised in North London. Following a fall down a flight of stairs, resulting in a broken foot, her mother bought her an electric guitar. Housebound, Nash improved her guitar playing and spent plenty of time songwriting. Soon enough, she’d finished some old songs, written some new ones and then booked a show at a local bar. Emboldened by that gig going well, she uploaded some of her tracks to MySpace and got a manager. Her first album, Made of Bricks, came out in 2007, and the follow-up, My Best Friend Is You, was released this year. Kate Nash (above, doing “Paris” and “Do-Wah-Doo” for a live session on has been compared to Lilly Allen, but Nash’s music speaks for itself. Find out for yourself tomorrow at Terminal 5 and on Saturday at The Wellmont Theatre.
