Tamaryn Bring Dreamy Pop to Music Hall of Williamsburg

February 20th, 2013

Originally from New Zealand, singer-songwriter Tamaryn met guitarist-producer Rex
John Shelverton in New York City nearly a decade ago before she settled in San Francisco. But the two remain collaborators, together making lush, shoegazing dream pop. Their first album, The Waves, came out in 2010. And two years later, they followed it with Tender New Sounds (stream it below), of which Consequence of Sound says, “Tamaryn hone in and put their stamp on the template outlined on their first LP, rather than tinker with something that never needing fixing.” It’s true. Watch them do “Garden,” above for AllSaints Basement Sessions, and then head to Brooklyn to see them play Music Hall of Williamsburg tomorrow night.
