GRiZ Will Have You Dancing Tonight at Terminal 5

November 15th, 2013

With electronic dance music becoming so popular over the past few years, it’s become increasingly difficult to stand out among the crowd. But Grant Kwiecinski, who records and performs as GRiZ, has an ace up his sleeve: “I don’t have fancy recording equipment, amazing speakers, crazy keyboards, complicated sample packs, proper studio time, cutting edge midi controllers or outboard mixing gear. What I do have is an endless imagination of the future/now, unrelenting will, constant fascination and a heart that has no capacity to stop loving and trying.” The Detroit native became known for mixing the saxophone with funky beats on his smash debut, Mad Liberation, released late last year, which propelled him from DJing college parties to opening for Bassnectar and then doing his own tours. And in his downtime, GRiZ worked on his sophomore LP, the equally acclaimed Rebel Era (stream it below), released last month. See him tonight at Terminal 5.
