Catch Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls Tonight at Terminal 5

November 27th, 2013

Following the breakup of a band in 2005, English singer-songwriter Frank Turner left behind punk for the world of acoustic folk. It was a move that paid off: He made several acclaimed albums and EPs and found success in being a troubadour. But, it seems, Turner still liked to get loud, and backed by the Sleeping Souls—Tarrant Anderson (bass), Ben Lloyd (guitar), Matt Nasir (piano) and Nigel Powell (drums)—he began playing full-band shows with a bigger, rock-inflected sound. Turner’s fifth studio album, the personal but acclaimed Tape Deck Heart (stream it below), came out earlier in the year. And Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls (above, performing “The Way I Tend to Be” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!) bring their high-energy live show to Terminal 5 tonight.
