Ryan Montbleau Celebrates New Album at The Bowery Ballroom

April 20th, 2015

Ryan Montbleau has been working as a professional musician since just before the dawn of the century. Combining roots, rock, folk, Americana, soul and R&B, the Boston-based singer-songwriter and guitarist has been a road warrior, whether fronting his own eponymous band or performing (and recording) as a solo artist. His ninth album, Growing Light, comes out tomorrow. And according to Glide Magazine, “The 10-song set is bold and barrier breaking, organically blending rock, funk, soul, folk and psychedelia to create a sonic kaleidoscope where tunes like the percolating first single, ‘Pacing Like Prince,’ and the cinematic title track coexist in refracted bliss.” Montbleau (above, performing “Never Gonna Be” live at Brooklyn Bowl) celebrates the full-length’s arrival with an album-release show tomorrow night at The Bowery Ballroom. The Utica, N.Y., progressive-string quartet Floodwood opens the show.
