Guster Spend the Weekend at the Capitol TheatreNovember 25th, 2015
Ryan Miller (vocals and multiple instruments), Adam Gardner (multiple instruments and vocals) and Brian Rosenworcel (drums) met at orientation in August of 1991 prior to their freshman year at Tufts University. Within a couple of months they were playing live as a trio. Two albums followed, but it was Guster’s third disc, Lost and Gone Forever, that gained them some considerable attention. Since then, Luke Reynolds (multiple instruments and backing vocals) has joined the band as they continue to play high-octane live shows filled with upbeat music. The personable, fan-friendly road warriors (above, performing “Hang On” for AudiotreeTV) put out their seventh studio LP, Evermotion (stream it below), back in January. It was their first album in five years, but PopMatters opined that what “results is a fine reminder that quality over quantity is a goal worth striving for.” And furthermore, “Guster took a chance this time out, and it paid off.” They close out their current tour on Friday and Saturday at the Capitol Theatre.
