The Capitol Theatre Kicks Off the Weekend with Deep Banana Blackout

February 19th, 2016

Jam favorites Deep Banana Blackout have been winning over rooms across the land thanks to their nonstop touring, heady improvisations and frenetic live performances going on more than two decades now. The Fairfield (County) funk outfit—James “Fuzz” San Giovanni (guitar and vocals), Eric Kalb (drums), Benj LeFevre  (bass), Jen Durkin (vocals), Rob Somerville (sax and vocals), Rob Volo (trombone, guitar and vocals), Cyrus Madan (keys) and Johnny Durkin (percussion)—is still going strong. And you can shake it into the weekend when Deep Banana Blackout (above, doing “Bump & Sway” and “It’s Too Funky in Here”) say so long to the workweek on Friday night at the Capitol Theatre. Brooklyn “cave-music” trio Moon Hooch open the show.
