A Double Shot of New Music from Twin Peaks in NYC Next Week

May 20th, 2016

Upbeat, energetic garage-punk outfit Twin Peaks—Cadien Lake James (vocals and guitar), Clay Frankel (vocals and guitar), Jack Dolan (vocals and bass), Colin Croom (keys and vocals) and Connor Brodner (drums)—just released their third studio LP, Down in Heaven (stream it below), last week. Pitchfork calls it “a casual, charmingly low-key set of kitchen-table blues, slow-dance serenades and unplugged power pop.” And the Line of Best Fit calls the band “not just one of the most exciting young bands in the Chicago music scene, but in the entire rock landscape.” Touring behind the new tunes, Twin Peaks (above, doing “Butterfly” at their album-release party) return to New York City next week to play Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday and The Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday. A pair of other Chicago acts, NE-HI and Jimmy Whispers, open each shows.
