The Seth Bogart Show Comes to Rough Trade NYC Tomorrow Night

July 19th, 2016

In addition to his musical work, Seth Bogart—perhaps best known for fronting the glitter-garage band Hunx & His Punx—has also worked in the visual arts and fashion. His gallery show a couple of years back featured painting, sculpture and music videos. And earlier this year, Bogart (above, his video for “Nina Hagen-Daaz”) put out an eponymous solo album (stream it below). “The fried garage pop and retro balladry of albums past has been swapped for a club-ready sound that plays like a fever dream set inside an episode of Miami Vice: bright colors, buzzing synthesizers, chipmunked vocals, the smooth confidence of adults on the prowl for meaningful sex,” according to Pitchfork. And to support the LP, Bogart—billed as the “live televisual performance” the Seth Bogart Show—has hit the road. He comes to Rough Trade NYC tomorrow night, and Contessa Cuntmafia and Macy Rodman open the show.
