The Bowery Ballroom Welcomes Winter Jazzfest on Friday Night

January 4th, 2017

On Friday night, one of the best rock clubs in town becomes one of the best jazz clubs in New York City thanks to the NYC Winter Jazzfest, which “upholds the continued mission to showcase top quality jazz to industry professionals, avid jazz fans and new audiences” over the course of five days—1/5-10. But the festival is perhaps best known for it’s two-night marathon across Greenwich Village’s downtown venues, which finds The Bowery Ballroom hosting the Revive Music Stage and a stacked lineup on Friday night. Karriem Riggins will DJ between all five sets of music—Philly music collective Killiam Shakespeare (below, stream Killiam Season 1), singer-songwriter and keyboardist (and Prince protege) Kandace Springs (below, stream Soul Eyes), guitarist Isaiah Sharkey, saxophonist Marcus Strickland’s Twi-Life (below, stream Nihil Novi) and drummer, composer and bandleader Chris Dave and the Drumhedz (above, performing live).

(Tickets to this show are included in the 1/6 single-day marathon pass.)
